How do we do hair transplantation?

In practice, hair follicles taken from the donor area, usually the nape, are transplanted to the targeted area. These hair follicles taken are called grafts. In some cases, the healthy hair on the nape or temple may not be dense enough for the targeted area. In such cases, hair follicles can be taken from the person’s arms, legs or other areas containing hair, such as the rib cage.

Hair transplantation takes place within a few hours, depending on the rate of hair loss and the amount of hair to be transplanted. In cases where the balding area is very large, more than one session may be required to complete the treatment. Hair transplantation is usually performed under local anesthesia with sedation. After the treatment, a special bandage is applied to the head of the individual. The individual, who is kept under observation for 1-2 hours, is then discharged. Pain in the hair transplant process is a rare symptom, but painkillers can be given in case of this. After a short home rest, the individual can continue to work by using a bandage to protect the transplanted area. Bandages are changed in the following days.

Hair Transplant Methods

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)

In this method, the scalp, taken from the healthy and unshed area on the nape, is divided into 1, 2, 3 and 4 clusters to accommodate the hair and hair follicles under the microscope, without spoiling its natural structures, and transplanted to the thinned or completely shedding area. .

The area where the hair is taken from the nape is sutured in accordance with plastic and reconstructive surgery methods. In this way, the scar on the back is minimized and the scar can only be seen when the hair is completely shaved. Stitches 12–15 post-surgery. taken per day.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

The follicular unit extraction (FUE) method is the transfer of hair follicles to the thinned or completely spilled area by taking them one by one from the nape or from certain parts of the body with special fine-tipped needles. Since there is no stitch on the nape, there is no stitch scar.

FUT or FUE methods are not different from each other in terms of results. If the hairline is prepared correctly and its orientation is done correctly, the results of both methods look natural.
